Home » Assisted Care FAQ » How do you make the best decision?
When choosing an assisted living community, there are a number of factors to consider. First, research the care provided by the facility to assure it fits the needs of your loved one. Schedule a tour to see the property and assess staff and residents. Do the caregivers and other staff show genuine concern for the residents they care for? Look for smiles on the faces of both the residents and the staff.
Other factors to consider are the cleanliness of the facility, the meals being offered and the variety of activities provided. The more research you do in advance, the better you will feel about the placement. Do not allow pressure when making such an important decision. Finally, give management staff appropriate time to complete the admission process.
