Our professionally trained Care Teams carefully evaluate new residents prior to acceptance. A Care Plan is created in conjunction with the physician�s report to assure individual resident needs will be met. Residents will be reassessed whenever there is a change in personal care needs. For residents who need a higher level of care and have other retention requirements, our Enhanced and Enhanced Plus Personal Care Packages are available. The resident and/or responsible party will receive prior notice that a change in services will be required.

Gold Quartz Inn Senior Retirement Home, Amador Residential Care and Jackson Gardens maintain a contractual agreement with Hospice of Amador to provide services to residents at the facilities. This collaborative effort was made possible by policy changes in the State Department of Health and Human Services. The goal of the interdisciplinary Team (IDT) which includes Hospice staff, volunteers and facility personnel, is to promote the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of residents, their families and significant others.

Care is focused on pain and symptom management as well as emotional support under the direction of the individual’s personal physician. It is the Hospice philosophy to neither hasten death nor prolong life but to focus on quality of life. Most people prefer to spend their last days at home, alert and comfortable among the people and things they love. Hospice care can make this possible. It is not about giving up, but is instead about receiving care from loving, committed and thoughtful staff members and volunteers.

Respite Care is now being offered on a space available basis for seniors with dementia and/or the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Our facilities are licensed by the California Department of Social Services to provide custodial care for non-ambulatory residents. Seniors who require assistance based upon physical or mental difficulties are considered non-ambulatory since they need assistance to exit the home in case of an emergency. Under our licenses, we can provide lodging, food services, activities, transportation and custodial care for periods as short as one day (minimum 24 hours).

Those who care for seniors often have business or social activities that are in conflict with the needs of their elderly residents. This service provides caregivers with the opportunity to take a vacation or to respond to other social/economic needs, secure in the knowledge that their loved ones are receiving quality custodial care.
